Currently, approximately 300,000 public sector employees – 90% – are covered by preliminary or ratified agreements concluded as part of B.C`s mandate to negotiate sustainable services. The agreement affects more than 45,000 teachers, represented by the BCTF, who provide education to students in the province`s 60 school districts. An interim agreement has been reached with the 45,000 teachers in British Columbia`s public schools. The Board of Education for School District #33 (SD-Nr. 33) and BCPSEA (BCPSEA) have concluded the following agreements with the Chilliwack Teachers` Association (CTA) and the British Columbia Teachers` Federation (BCTF): He hopes that education authorities and teachers will ratify the agreement “and that we can work together to focus on continuity of student learning and on the health and safety of our school communities.” The contract applies to teachers working in 60 B.C school districts.
